This page is a collection of posts and links related to the Barkley Marathons and my involvement in it. Honestly this page is here to help me as much as it is to help you. I’ve received a very large number of questions about this race, and unfortunately I’m not able to answer all of them. Hopefully this will take care of most questions, giving me time to answer any remaining ones. So please do feel free to reach out if you still have questions, of course with the understanding that not everything has an answer, or at least one that can be provided. 😉

Barkley Fund

If you’d like to support Barkley, you can send donations via Paypal. Barkley was designed to not be a feat of finance for the entrants, and needless to say the $1.60 entry fees don’t cover the cost of the race. It has always relied on additional support to cover those. No, this is not a tax-deductible donation, and for full disclosure: it doesn’t even directly go to the Barkley fund. Laz (the race director) is averse to / doesn’t want to mess with any sort of electronic finance. So funds stay in the account and periodically I transfer it to my own bank account and write a physical check to the actual Barkley fund for 100% of the transferred amount. No donations will have any effect whatsoever on getting into the race.
